Women's Ministry

The Women’s Ministry of Selma Baptist Church is available to all women over 18 years of age. There are many opportunities for spiritual growth, prayer, spiritual mentoring and service in the church and local community.

Selma Women's Ministry exists to help women of all ages grow in their relationship with God and to form meaningful friendships with other women of similar interests. It is our hearts desire that each woman live out the Great Commission and "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" II Peter 3:18.

To help accomplish this goal we provide opportunities for women to connect through Bible Studies, prayer groups, WMU, local and foreign mission projects, Women's conferences, Tables of Love and Mom & Kids play dates. In 2012 we will be starting Painting Praises (a painting ministry), Scrap with Me (for moms and daughters), and a coupon cooperative.

Ladies Prayer Groups meet bi-monthly for prayer and card ministry
Ladies Bible Study meets during the school year for various Bible studies that appeal to many interests
Women on a Mission has a heart for local and foreign missions. We meet monthly to pray for missionaries, plan local mission projects, and support SBC missions activities
We attend annual retreats with nationally known speakers for a time of Bible study, encouragement, and fellowship
Apples of Gold is a program that takes seriously the Biblical admonition for older women to mentor younger women. This is a six-week nurturing program with lessons on kindness, loving your husband and children, submission, purity and hospitality based on Titus 2:3-5
