Selma Baptist enjoys great freedom in worship, utilizing both contemporary choruses and the time-tested hymns of faith. Our services are enhanced by our Voices of Praise Choir, a number of gifted soloists, groups, and our Praise Band.
We feel that all are welcome to worship with us in music and song. You do not have to have experience or know anything about music…all we ask is that you bring a willing heart to be used by God.
Our Purpose
The purpose of Selma Baptist Church is to glorify God by obediently making and equipping disciples of Christ in Dothan, the surrounding area and through out the world by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Voices of Praise Choir
This group of young people and adults leads in worship each Sunday, and also prepares music for seasonal events such as Easter, Christmas and patriotic services. The musical makeup of the group ranges from amateurs to touring professionals, and all are welcome. Our musical diversity makes our time together enjoyable. Musical selections include Traditional, Contemporary, Southern Gospel and occasionally Spirituals. The music of Mike Speck, Jay Rouse, Don Moen, Camp Kirkland, Randy Vader, Tom Fettke and others can be heard from the loft each week. Join us for rehearsals on Sunday afternoons at 4:30 PM.
Praise Band
Instrumentalists are invited to join our Praise Band, which helps accompany our congregation. This group adds a great deal of excitement and energy to the morning worship. Join us for rehearsals on Monday evenings at 6:30 PM.
Musical Outreach
The members of our music ministry are actively involved in living out the message of our music. Our heart is to be involved in different facets of ministry. God has provided us opportunities to serve in community outreaches, such as feeding the homeless and reaching out to our homebound. We are in constant prayer for the Lord to lead us in how we might be used by Him.
